For all of my K-12 education I was the only Elof in my classes. I learned to ignore the teasing: "e loaf of bread," "Elofant," and scolded by my mother yelling "Elofski, stop that." But I was known in high school by the nickname "Foley" a phonetically backwards pronouncing of my name. It made me feel unique and I have enjoyed that because it singled me out as unique which went with my name ("sole heir")
