Kent Bourdon Monroe is an American marketing scholar and economist. He is a legend of marketing and one of the most distinguished scholars in behavioral pricing. His research focuses on consumer price perception, information processing, and shopping behavior. His academic career began as a marketing professor at Virginia Tech in 1980. He was hired by the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 1991 and served as the head of department in 1994-1999. After retirement in 2005, he was recognized as John M. Jones Distinguished Professor of Marketing Emeritus at Gies College of Business. He joined the University of Richmond as Visiting Distinguished Scholar in 2004-2018. He is an Elected Fellow of Decision Sciences Institute.
